COVID-19 SAFETY PROCEDURES

Prior to opening Tanzania for tourism, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism published new standard operating procedures for tourism staff, airports, ships, accommodations, and tour operators. These procedures outline common sense directives designed to reduce the risk of infection. View Standard Operating Procedures

Some of these government procedures include:

  • Thermal screening for arriving passengers

  • All contact surfaces are cleaned and sanitized on a regular basis

  • Staff members must wear masks when attending to guests and servicing guest areas

  • Hand washing and sanitizing facilities must be provided to guests and staff

  • Staff members should maintain a distance from one another and from guests

Local Moshi Adventures has established standard operating procedures, both on Kilimanjaro and on safari, above and beyond government requirements to ensure the safety of our clients and crew.

These include:

  • Crew training in extra precautions when packing, transporting and preparing food for climbers

  • Designating one crewmember to oversee Covid-19 safety procedures

  • Disinfecting all equipment prior to use and at every campsite

  • Mandatory masks for our crewmembers when interacting with climbers

  • Limiting the number of crew interactions with clients

Upon request meals can be served in the sleeping tent instead of the mess tent.

All of the above applies for our safari guests as well!
