Kilimanjaro is one of the world's most accessible high summits and can be climbed without technical skills, making it a beacon for visitors from around the world. But make no mistake, it is a demanding and challenging endeavor.

Local Moshi Adventures is a locally owned tour operator based in the heart of Moshi Town in the foothills of Kilimanjaro. We specialize in group climbs, private climbs and private safaris to match your time, budget and interests.
Since 2011 we have provided high quality climbs and safaris.
Our experienced local guides have successfully guided 98% of our clients to Uhuru Peak, while the trained eyes of our safari guides will spot even the smallest wildlife alongside the road.

The climbing outfitter and route you chose are the most important factors in determining your summit success.
Climbing Outfitters
There are hundreds of outfitters to choose from, locally and internationally, but only few are considered reputable.
The best ones not only have the best safety records and client success rate, they also care about the fair and ethical treatment of their porters and crew.
They have highly trained guides, use quality equipment, offer nutritious meals, are members of the Kilimanjaro Porters Assistance Project (KPAP), and have agreed to be audited and inspected by KPAP on a regular basis.
Your chances to reach the summit depend on your climbing outfitter more than on anything else including your fitness level.​
Kilimanjaro Routes
​There are a seven established climbing routes on Kilimanjaro.
​
Machame, Marangu, Rongai, Lemosho, Shira, Umbwe and the Northern Circuit Route.
​
While each route has its own character, some being more difficult, some more lengthy, all routes offer stunning views and there is no single best climb route.
​
Deciding which route is best for you depends on your personal circumstances including budget, time available, level of fitness and time of the year.
The more days you spend on the mountain, the better your acclimatization and chance to reach the top.
We highly recommend seven or more days.

Ngorongoro Crater
The world's largest intact caldera. At the crater's base, the crater walls offer a dramatic backdrop and an abundance of wild life.
Serengeti
A high diversity of habitats, ranging from forests, rivers, grass- and woodlands, the Serengeti, sustains many different animal species.
Tarangire & Lake Manyara
Although lesser known, both of these National Parks feature an abundance of wildlife and are well worth a visit.
Balloon Flight and Hadzabe Bushmen
A balloon flight over Serengeti or a morning hunt with the Bushmen are a fun add on to your safari.
